We are starting with a 1985 Peterbilt 359, with a 425 Catipillar engine and a 15 spd Fuller Trans.
The Truck is provided for this project courtesy of Mark Hauser of Hauser Trucking in Watervliet,N.Y.
Below are concept drawings of the proposed finished product. Some of the features of the truck will include a radically altered front end, airbag suspension, a chopped top, suicide doors, smoothed panels, stainless steel one-off bumpers, a working trunk area, and a re-styled interior with up-graded sound system and gauges. The other items are kind of a secret. Don't want to give them all away. More photos soon. Thanks for your interest, Jay Griffen.

ABOUT  THE  DESIGN:
I have had this idea in my mind for about 3 or 4 years but I was still having trouble putting it all together. I usually design with a theme of some sort in mind when doing paint jobs or concepts. While researching for ideas on the internet, I came across the article telling of the passing of one of the great car customizers of my generation, Boyd Coddington. It was then that it all clicked! I looked at this truck and asked myself, "If Boyd were to do this truck how would he do it? After looking at many photos of his work, I have to admit I was pretty intimidated. Not just from a design aspect, but from an engineering one as well. After all, trying to emulate someone of Boyd's stature is tough enough. Then trying to bend those lines around a truck? There were plenty of people telling what couldn't be done with this that or the other thing. I finally decided to stop listening to everybody and just draw the thing as I saw it in my mind. I then went and sat for hours staring at the truck and then staring at the drawing and then photos of a 34' ford. I gotta say, I killed alot of trees drawing and re-drawing this thing and working on the engineering of the suspension and other things, until I got what I wanted. The result is what you see before you. I basically broke all the rules!  Fortunately I have been blessed with a group of guys who looked at my design and said; "Yea! We can do that!  When do we start?"  Cool! So now we are off to the races and building the coolest rig on the planet. Updates will follow as we progress. Thanks for your time and interest. Jay Griffen.
